Going to the Chapel… Great British Life
It has been a busy summer, not least because I had a wedding to organise with my now husband. Being a keen walker, obsessed with the sea, and in love with my home county of Dorset, the idea of getting married at St. Aldhelm’s Chapel quickly displaced all others. Thankfully, it was possible to make this crazy idea a reality.
This 800 year old chapel, near Worth Matravers, has always intrigued me. The thought of worshippers trekking out to the coast over the centuries appeals not only to my nature loving and spiritual side, but also to my love of stories. How I would love to peer in at a service held there in the 12th Century…
Getting married there was a priviledge, and a joyful day I won’t forget. And in true writer style, I found someone willing to take a few words about this fantastic chapel.
