Environment Anthology

The team at Creative Mind (Creative Mind | You think, therefore we are. (creative-mind.co.uk)) recently held a creative writing competition with the theme Environment.

My piece Night Walk has been included in the resulting anthology: Environment - Anthology of Poetry and Prose, published by Creative Mind.

Reflecting on time spent surveying nocturnal primates in the forests of Sabah, I wasn’t sure if it would sit well alongside other entries to the competition, but its inclusion shows that it can be worth entering a writing competition even when you’re not confident of success.

This has been a welcome boost, as a publication I was enjoying writing for has recently ceased publishing. This was an outlet I was excited about working for, and the editor was a delight to work with. Sadly, the difficult financial landscape appears to have put an end to that opportunity.

So a heartfelt “thank-you” to the judges at Creative Mind for considering my piece and deciding to include it in the anthology alongside some cracking pieces interpreting the environmental theme in engaging ways.
